Nepal Red Cross Society

Red Cross Society is an international organization for human welfare. The founder of this organization was Henry Jean Dunant of Switzerland. He founded this organization to help the wounded soldiers in the war. The tragic deaths of the war wounded soldiers shocked him greatly and so he established this organization in 1863. This organization has spread in 165 countries of the world including Nepal. Here it was established in 2020 B.S. Since then it has been providing its services to distressed people. Red Cross Society serves in the places where wars, natural calamities and refugee problems occur.

Nepal Red Cross Society provides relief measures to the people. It becomes very active during the period of flood, earthquake, epidemic disease, fire, etc. it distributes medicines, milk, blankets and clothes. It has started Blood Bank Centre’s and ambulance services. It conducts blood donation programmes.

Nepal Red Cross Society has started several other programmes. It provides maternal and child welfare services, health education, drinking water and nutritious food. It teaches how to manage the family efficiently.
