Economic

Nepalese social life is also determined by economy. In the past, there were two distinct blocks: capitalists and workers. Exploitation was the basis of this classification. The capitalists motive was to exploit the workers and the workers had to resists the exploitation and suppression by the capitalists. In due course of time, another class appeared between the capitalists and workers, known as the middle class people.
Today, even in this democratic situation, there are three classes of people in Nepalese society: rich, poor and middle class people. There are very few rich people, more in the ‘poor’ class and many more in the ‘middle’ class. In spite of these divisions, there is harmony, and clashes between two classes are rarely found, heard or seen in the Nepalese society.
