Nowadays, many of us have started discarding the occupations of our forefathers. Most people in our country either seek employment or engage in trade and business. The traditional occupations like agriculture, cottage industries, animal rearing and using animal products such as ghee, cheese, leather goods, etc. have been diminishing day by day. Celebration of local festivals, performing rites and rituals, using priests to perform rituals, using traditional musical instruments on the occasion of marriage, etc. are also in the diminishing stage. There are very few people who are engaged in traditional art and craft to produce carpets, clay work, wood work, etc. our tradition is our identity, our culture and our civilization. In the name of advancement, if we discard all such values and norms of our life, we will be nowhere.
